I finally got around to making eolib-rs and migrated reoserv to it
Remember that big list of stuff left to do? It's a lot smaller now
It's been a while and I've recently been back at it again adding lots of missing features and fixing bugs.
I've spent the last few months working mainly on NPCs for reoserv. Join me while I share the latest updates!
Recently picked the project back up again and have been doing some much needed refactoring
After fixing up NPC movement I thought it would be fun giving them something to say.
Did some more NPC research with GameServer and had a very rough first implementation of NPC movements
Finally got NPCs to appear. They don't do anything but the world feels a little more alive now
I haven't been working on reoserv as much as I'd like these past months.
Re-implemented the welcome packet handler using the new world and map handles
After a break from the project I spent the last few days actually implementing that actor pattern I was so excited about! There were a few hurdles along the way, but the server is so much cleaner now.
This weekend I listed to a podcast with one of the maintainers of tokio and learned how I could cleanup my server
